A California ride that started at 0656hrs. The worst part was going through Redding @ 111 degrees. It stayed at 100 or more until I got past Stockton....5+hrs.....but the '05 FJR did just fine....never missed a beat and I never had any HEAT issues.....

Congrats Motorgod!

Oh, the stories I could tell!

Revel in your accomplishment! You will always remember your first SS1000 fondly. Way to go!

In the coming days it will sink in more and more and then you will wear a shit eatin' grin for the obvious reason! And all your none riding friends will think you are "nuts" and why would you do something like that...

Congrats!

Congrats on the ride. I'll bet you're already thinking about the next one.

Congrats!
+1 on that. Most of my co-workers, 'cept one multiple IBA event rider, thought I was CRAZY! My folks went to mass and prayed for me, and my wife just worried! Felt good to get one under the belt!

Hey, you guys cut that out, IBA goin' be so back logged it's gong to take forever for the to process my paperwork.

The FJR sure is sweet for eating miles tho isn't she?

You've joined an impressive club of folks that plan a ride, ride their plan, and get as much enjoyment out of the plan as the actual ride and dealing with non-planned stuff along the way.

Congrats!

I did my first one a little less than 2 years ago and .....ummm..... find the rides rather ....ummm..... addictive. No......satisfying.....that's it.

Are 'ya thinking a glimmer of a thought of a BBG now? If not now, you start thinking about it in a week or two.....you have the same tell-tale signs of an ass transmuting to an alloy.

Well done and congratulations. Now I bet you will do more. I sure have after my first SS1K. Keep riding and stay safe.

you know, before I decided to check out internet forums, I knew nothing of the incredibly diverse motorcycling world. I had heard of Iron Butt and had no clue what it was for YEARS!!!

Now that I know what it is and I reflect on all the times I have come close to 1000 miles I know that 1000 miles is a big deal.

My longest ride 2up was 863 miles...just another 137 miles and we would have been over 1k! After 863 miles we almost fell off that bike and that was with nice sit down meals. (stock seat!)

So, from my experiences, all I can say Motorgod is, "Congratulations on a truly significant achievement!"

I aspire to do it...someday.
