Well, I've ridden this 2007 electric shift wonder about 100 miles now, and here's my initial impressions.
Damn, this puppys' got plenty of ooooomph! Rolled on in fifth from 70 on the freeway, and looked down at the speedo to see 120. To quote Office Depot, "That was Easy".
The windshield that comes from the factory ain't worth a poop in any position except full down. The higher it gets, the noisier it gets. Fortunately, it's in the 70's here today so wind protection isn't critical.
The little fairing whozits that adjust the airflow by your knees/radiator exhaust, actually do make a difference. There was notably less direct heat on my lower legs on the second ride.
But, the very first thing that would have to be changed is risers. I'm 6' and a 34" sleeve, and I still feel like all my weight is on my wrists. They're readily available and relatively cheap, so it's not really an issue, I just wish that some manufacturer would make an adjustable set of risers/bars as standard.
It would be nice if you could leave the bags unlocked so that you didn't have to use your key every time, but that's a minor issue, just an inconvenience.
The last thing I can think of . . . . . why would any builder of a "touring" bike not include or make optional, a real electronic cruise control?
Just a few random thoughts!
