Northbound Ride on Saturday, Jan. 23

Meet: Adventure Motorsports, 17321 Tye St SE, Monroe, WA 98272

Start time: 11:15am

Type: beginner to intermediate pace

Please be gassed up & ready to 'twisty'. We'll ride a twisty northern route. Be back about 4ish (before dark). We'll stop for gas/snacks/whatever.

If it rains, I'm out, though!

Steven, put me down for a maybe. I've missed the Adventure meeting four or five months in a row for one reason or another. I was really hoping to go this weekend and see the seminar also. Looks like I may have to work. JR

FYI:

On these particular type of rides, the pace is "around" the speed limit... mostly because it's winter and the roads are in less than desirable condition (gravel, leaves, sand, etc.), and it also gives new riders a chance to enjoy a ride with a group. That said, I like to have the bikes space themselves so they can enjoy the twisties. Plus, winter time has some pretty nice scenery to enjoy.

I enjoy screamin' through the twisties, but safety-wise, winter isn't the time to do it around this area.

1) I always have a very short safety/route discussion before we take off.

2) I do not condone nor recommend staggered riding on the routes that I plan... especially on a sport-type bike. Single file only with lots of space!

3) Safety and fun is my prime concern.

By the way, even though I have 2 motorcycles, I do not live to ride nor ride to live. I live for my loved ones... especially for my grandchildren's giggles & smiles!

Looks like a nice day albeit a bit chilly (40-ish?). Looks like the FJR is in order for this ride.

Very nice seeing you all... Hammerhead, Tailwalk, Dabrit & the Mrs....

Fantastic ride (for me anyway).

It appears we started with 31 bikes but before we went 6 blocks, we were down to 25!!

Someone dumped crossing the railroad tracks at Highway 2, and I lost the sweep and his lady somewhere. I'm not sure how that happened???

Anyway, now a lot of folks know of most my secret twisties.

The weather cooperated really nice. We were even blessed with a beautiful rainbow towards the end of the ride. We also saw a HUGE bald eagle sitting near it's humungus nest.
