Grouchy old fat guy
Tough choices...
1. Keep the '03 BMW Z4 and pay over $11k to buy out the ex's loan note, or...
2. Try to find a more practical car or truck...
Hmmmmm....
Down here in SoCal, where trucks go for a premium and people think Hondas and Toyotas have gold hidden in their engines, it actually is a tough choice.
I loved the Z4's zing, but hated that there was nearly ZERO cargo capacity (duh).
I loved the Z4's BMW name/reliability, but HATED the maintenance items that weren't covered as they were sky-high expensive, like the run-flat tires you have to buy because you don't carry a spare!
Hunting for decent used pickup trucks in SoCal for cheap? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is desert country, you Midwestern hick, if it has a heartbeat, it's worth at least $4k, probably more.
Alright, I give up, back to basics. My parents always SWORE by their GM 3.8L 6-cylinder cars, sticking mostly with the Buick-badged versions like Park Avenue and LeSabre.
I finally settled on something slightly different I stumbled on while hunting for something else. Because of my purchase of a 96 Cadillac DeVille, I am now officially either an old geezer or a mobbed-up, 400-pound Goombah.
