Fo' Real!!!

I've seen so many good deals on bikes it is just crazy. 2006 FJR's with farkles going for under 9k, 2004 ABS FJR's going for under 7k, 2007's deeply discounted from dealers...

Not just for FJR's either. Take a look at other forums, and you'll see the pattern. So many bikes that have been posted for months and the prices just keep dropping.

So if you have been waiting for a reason to buy a bike, now is the time to do it. Rates suck! 10.9 for a used motorcycle loan! But the low prices make up for it.

yeah well its only going to get worse. No one buys bikes in the fall (except the smart) so by winter people are really itchin to sell. That is when the really smart buyers start lookin! That said, I bought my 04 exactly 1 year ago.

Talked to a Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer the other day.

He said he can't move anything. No more easy money house seconds and buyers can't qualify for motorcycle loans. He sells them but the "buyers" can't get financing.

Who the hell in their right mind would take a second on their house to buy a motorcycle? Better yet, who can't get a loan for 15k and if they can't, why the hell are they even looking at a bike? I'd think they'd be shuffling coupons to the cashier at Piggly Wiggly and that would be about it.

Yeah, me too. Like one year within a few days. I'm going to buy an FZ1 in 2 weeks. Got such a good deal, I just can't turn in down.

TWN, I got you a couple more avatars since that one is scary.

How about this

You appear to have a narrow socio-economic exposure.

It that a confession or just a statement?

Neither.

Just for those that haven't noticed, times are hard all over. The housing market has put a stopper on everything with the trickle down effect. The mc dealers don't expect things to get any better for a couple years. Just imagine my harley dealer called me to say that I could come demo anything I wanted whenever I wanted. Yeah right. Anyway for those of us that have bikes and are happy it is a good time to hold. For those with plenty of moola make your move. Anyway ride safe be happy and thankful for what we have. Narrow socio-economic exposure? Um, no. It's just plain ******* stupid to mortgage your home to buy what for most is a recreational vehicle. Stupidity knows no socio-economic boundaries. ;)
Really hate to agree with anyone, but as the saying goes, "You got that right driver". :clapping:

Unfortunately the skyrocketing rate of bankruptcies is going to get alot worse before it gets better, IMHO. As the next 2 months bring ARM's to the fore and rates, thus house payments, go up your going to have alot of people that can no longer make their payment. Especially where the housing market was going great guns on the east and west coast. The mortgage lenders are going to get exactly what they deserve over the next year or two.

If you have the cash it will be good shopping for "luxury items"

absolutelyfreekingagree............

The really sad part is all those who end up loosing there homes because of lenders actions.

Man I'm glad my house is finally paid for..........it's modest by most standards....but it's all mine. Life is so much more enjoyable with no mortgage hanging over your head.

OMG, I can't wait for that day. I've only got hmmmmmmm....... 29 years to go! (Just bought my first home last year, I'm 27)

Actually, I make 1 extra payment a year, so that is supposed to lower it to like 20 something years instead of 30.

Is the car market the same as the motorcycle market? I would expect so, I know all the american car dealers are struggling like hell.
