We rode with the Harleys and Choppers on the OCC group ride in for the OCC new shop

Grand Opening Orange County NY :yahoo:

I rode my FJR, my son was on his Ducati and brother was on his Heritage soft tail classic.

We went on a surprisingly fast ride with about 300 Harleys. After every turn the group took off very fast for a group of 900 lbs Harley's.

Nice pictures. I just don't get the point of riding something that can't do curves well. The whole chopper thing just seems like an overblown art project. How could you stand all the noise of being with so many Harleys? I wouldn't be able to hear for a week.

I'm jealous! I watch the show on a regular basis, even tho I'd never ride the bikes they create. Get a chance to see the Pauls?

Unfortunately we did not get to see the Pauls. I think we saw the all of the crew exept Sr and Jr. My Brother and and my son were party poopers and wanted to go home after the morning ride that ended at 11:00 AM. We stayed long enough to see Mikey start his 11:00 scheduled signing session. The line was about two or more hours long for the Mikey signing and my back was not up to standing in line for two hours.

But we should have stayed for the unveiling of the Giants bike, as we originally planed to do, at 1:00PM and seen the Pauls' then. <_< Next time I will stay as long as I like.

I do feel as though we now all of them a little bit because we have seen all the shows at least a few times.

Oh well, they are only 45 minutes from us, I"ll get another chance latter this year on the next OCC ride. :D

Oh, in person, the OCC theme bikes are with out a doubt the coolest and most awesome bikes you'll ever see. They are impractical, but they are just incredibly cool. We saw them in action and we were just awestruck. They are much more impressive in person than they are on TV.

The choppers in the out side shots did lead the group on the ride. The big custom twins they use have around 125HP and they took off very fast after every turn we made at intersections. It was the stock Harleys that were having a hard time keeping up with the choppers each time the chopper pored on the gas.

Sorry, but I think the best looking bikes can be seen in the 2nd frame (and the last one).

Just my 'pinion.

We really like our bikes too. :exhappysmiley:

I would only get a Harley or chopper if keeping the FJR was part of the deal. :) My son feels the same way about his Ducati. But he would trade it for a Night Rod.

Thank God for Porsche! If only Harley-Davidson® would drop that slug V-45 twin and go with the Porsche across the board...but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We must continue to live in a cave and drag our knuckles.

Did you get close enough to inspect the welds? How many frames were notched to create clearance for the belt drive because they hadn't figured out how to use a spacer on the rear wheel?

It's nice to see that tapered jeans, tucked in behind the tongues of cross-trainer shoes, are still around somewhere....

funny... I'm on a forum where the cavemen are proud to be caveman....pans, shovels and knucks...<G>

although some of them also have evos, dressers and twinkies..... and sportbikes...(non-HD!) :D

they take pride is building and keeping the old stuff running, generally way better than when new... and fewer leaks. <LOL>

Pop quiz. How many fingers does one need to use on the front brake of a chopper? (assuming that one has more than one finger available, not being used for giving hand signals at the time). Look at the pix for the answer. What was it that the MSF said about which one to cover at slow speeds? It was one or the other of those lever things on the bars.

+1! and what's up with the pretty stripes? That's an '07 by the color, right? How'd you get the nice European stripes?

Old Cruiser Chumps? I'd rather be hit by a Bus. Freaks have out lived their usefulness :bad:

Silly assed **** ya can't really ride across Owosso!!
