Anyone else have this happen. Was resetting the trip odometer after fillup, and the main odometer jumped from 49,800 or so to 79,000 miles! This in an 2005. Tomorrow I'll try disconnecting the battery see if resets. Any other ideas?

Yup. Ya probably changed the odometer from miles to kilometers. It's easy enough to set it back again.

Feeling alone? Check here: CLICKY

Don't disconnect the battery. You'll only hurt yourself.

You have inadvertently switched your odo display from miles to kilometers. Hold left button down for about 10 seconds and it will switch back to miles.

Not knowing this is an embarrassment to other Gen I owners. Go abuse yourself with the "wrong" hand for penance.

Or, leave it as it is...You will get much better fuel mileage!

Thanks for posting the cure.

You might have saved me from a future panic attack.

Unlikely, your Gen II can't change between miles and kilometres.
So, if this happens to you, panicking is the best course of action
