ok guys....I bought a 2004 FJR that when I bought had 60,400 mile on it....rode it to work a few times.....maybe 200 miles.  so I'm having some work done and the shop( I know shop guys has been there 10 years!!!!) called me about a part and made the comment regarding that the bike had almost 100,000 mile on it...."WHAT?!?" I said....I have pic. that I took when I brought it home that shows ODO 60,400.......

sooooo could the guys that I bought the bike from tinkered with the Odometer????......is that possible?

or is shop guys dodus?

I have not been to shop to see for myself.....

Thoughts?

I would want to know what tells them it has a 100k and did you get it from a dealer. When I sold my first 03 I told the new owner it had 26k more than showed cause the speedo was changed under warranty. When he sold it he didn't pass that Info the the next owner.

I did not get from dealer.....personal sale

he is saying the Odometer shows it.....again I have not been to the shop.....just going off what he said.

I had an 06 that had a recall on the gauge panel. They provided a sticker that was to be attached somewhere, on the bike. They may have put it on the back of the gauge panel, out of normal view, or not at all. Kind of shifty to me. I believe ECU would contain actual miles. Most people would never realize it.

Maybe it's showing kilometer's instead of mile's. I've accidentally set it to kilometer's by holding 1 of the 2 buttons that reset's the trip meter too long. I forgot which button or how long, but it's in the Owners Manual.

But then again maybe not. Could be one of the above scenarios.

Hope you solve the mystery!😎

^^ My bet is on this.  64,600 miles = 103,xxx km.

Can someone look up?....don't have Owners Manual

Please and Thanks!

To be perfectly *******, I will ask how an indirect link that you have to fill out to get to the PDF file is "easier" than going straight to the PDF file.

Same occurred to me.  Unless, of course, one was going to transcribe the address and retype it rather than clicking...

For me, your suggestion is not a link.  Not to be ******* but at least I provided a real link.  Not everyone is as computer savvy as you, and some do not mind using 6 seconds to click a form.

They both work, what's the big deal?  Don't be so sensitive.  I said "might be" not "is" realizing that different simple choices to accomplish the same thing works well for different people.  Please tell me you're not one of those "you have to do it my way or you're an *****" kind of people.

Fair point. I posted it as a link but the software didn't do it's "magic". Fixed.
