Actually, that critter is anticipating the setting sun and has learned from experience that the road is a warm blanket in the cool of the high desert at night. They literally will try and sleep in the middle of the road making that stretch less safe between about 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Oh so true. And unlike some other animals, cattle don't move out of the way very fast. When they decide to move at all!

Actually, as I understand, that is one of the new 'Reflect-O-Cow' installations. ;) doubles as a reflector and a speed awareness device.

You know it, man.

Hitting a cow at FJR-nominal speeds in the Nevada desert or spotting the image of Radman all prom-queened out in my HID's?

I think the former for sure..... :dribble:

Massive trauma and road rash healing up for months in an ICU would be far easier to deal with than the padded room and years of sessions with a shrink afterwards.

And yet...strangely compelling...

Wake me when breakfast is ready. Or a Pete/KW/Volvo is coming.

Non-smoker, non-snorer (I think) :dntknw:
I'm also in a position to maybe back out on or about July 1, but I will still pay you back for half if I do back out and you can't find a replacement.

However, if Eve caves and goes, I'm gonna room up with her (for obvious reasons). I'll know much earlier than July if that's the case. We'll probably settle that question when it's time to reserve a room.

Darn good thing I wasn't drinking something when I first saw this. I think this is the funniest thing I've seen on this forum yet! Now I'm gonna have nightmares of RadMan shaking his wares in the middle of the desert when he gets lit up by someone's lights! TFF

Any word on when the rooms will open so that we can make reservations? I missed last years so I am all over this one.

Perhaps we'll make reading comprehension a prerequisite to reserving a room.

More information - including room rates/reservations/banquet fees/etc - will be published as they are finalized. The intent of this post is simply to announce the official venue, and provide hard dates for those needing to secure vacation time soon.

I guess that's an impolite way of saying "No, we don't know yet." <_< It has been quite a while since the initial post, and although I didn't expect news until after the first of the year, you can't blame a guy for wondering. Or for asking.

Impolite? Not really.

Impolite would have been me saying, "Read the ******* first post again."

Well, just to assuage y'all'ses angst, I'm still picking nits with the hotel over some not so minor details. I had hoped to get this put to bed a couple of weeks ago, but the hotel requested some additional information that took a while for them to get follow up on. Not their fault, just the way things go sometimes.

I will say this, though... Once we announce availably, y'all better whip out those credit cards and reserve quick! These rooms ain't gonna last long judging from the amount of PM activity that I've been getting... ;)

They wanted to make sure we weren't the Blackbird guys, eh?

So is that your official excuse for not replying? Pretty weak... :****:

What? Someone say sumpin'? :bleh:

How many rooms are we talking about in our FJR block? Will there be enough for the estimated number of riders?
More riders than rooms. History shows doubling up is quite common. Remember, we are an EOO, and far be it from us not to welcome the Rainbow Brigade. ;)
