Hey Guy's, Was able to get away on Thur. and put 340 miles on the clock. Also contracted a real bad condition they call "The Blue Flu". I'm not sure if any of you guy's are ever struck with it, but I've discovered the cure. Another long day in the saddle really worked for me anyway. Put another 400 miles on, on Fri. and although a complete cure was probably not attained, it sure seemed to lift my spirits. The real reason for this post, all kiddin aside. If anybody can get down to our favorite corner, it really is a blaze. 800 was spectacular all the way down to the river. Quick jog and then back up the triple nickel back to Zanesville. But 83 up to Wooster IMHO was the most colorful. And one more piece of free info. Don't let TStaff, or Jimstaff, or El Toro Joe, or Ray, or Denny, as you can see the list is almost endless. Sorry Guy's, but if anyone wants to look at the colors, Don't let any of these Guy's lead. Unless starin at the double yellow line, and hangin on for dear life is your idea of fun. All kidden aside, ridin the Ramble, and gettin to ride with you guy,s this year has made my summer. THANX AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take advantage of the weather this weekend and next, It is well worth the time invested.Dave

Hey Dave...the wife and I plan on doing just that tomorrow. We spent four days last weekend up in the Finger Lakes Region of NY drinking a lot of wine and enjoying the Fall colors...we need to do some riding soon!!!

I still need a rear tire before I can do any riding :angry2: Good thing I'm heading to Columbus next weekend. Iron Pony, here I come!

Good to hear from you Dave. You're right,it's a great time of year to slow down and take a look around.I was down in the Hocking Hills area yesterday and it looked like the leaves were in peek color...really beautiful!Unfortunately I was in the truck since the FJR is in the shop(cam chain tensioner) and the KLR needs a back tire.

I might be able to get down there next weekend since the shop called today and left a message that the FJR is ready to go.I hope the weather is as nice as it has been this weekend.

Yesterday was a perfect day to ride in Ohio.....last week we were down RT78 and the leaves were mostly still green, yesterday they had all changed.

Today looks perfect for a ride also !!!!! :clapping:

jnor, love the avitar...what a road. Today does look like the perfect fall day in the Buckeye State to go out and enjoy the scenery...planning on getting out there shortly. Enjoy

Another favorite is 26 from Woodsfield to 145 by Beallsville. There all good in that area.

The week before last, I got to drive a rental car from the Goodyear plant in Akron to the folks' cemetary in West Union, south of Gnaddenhutten on County 10. Even though it was a rental Mustang, the roads were fantastic and I got to just drive for an hour or so on the twisties. Sure wish I had the bike there! The roads were in great shape between there and near Atwood Lake where I grew up off Rt 212. I was glad twice to not be pushing as hard as possible when popping over a twisty rise and finding Amish buggies the hard way. It happened the same way both times.

Enjoy it you guys!!!

Anybody able to get away on Monday or Tuesday, PM me. Dave

This past weekend Susie and I rode to Louisville. We went for a 170 mile ride around the country at Mach 0.9 with Jagermeister. Good times!

We're looking at doing a fall leaf tour this Saturday. I'm not sure of our route yet, but I am taking notes!

Hey guy,s keep me informed. I'll check the post later.

It sounds like there might be a ride forming for Saturday,if so,count me in.

It should be pretty nice down in the Hocking Hills about now.Clearcreek Rd would be a good candidate,as would Big Pine Rd,and the north end of 374,and Kreashbaum Rd,and...

Wifey and I are headed out Saturday for a leaf tour. Not sure where we'll go, but knowing her butt is not exactly an iron one, probably no further from CMH then Vinton County. I'm guessing 33 to 56 to 374 or 278, Coal Mine Road to either one of these, Wheelright Road to a friends log cabin for a break, back on 278 north to 56 to 374 north, Thompson Ridge Road, 56 back to Jimbo's, or maybe 180 north for a bit, then backtrack to 56, then home from there. Nothing major, maybe 200 miles.

We did the triple nickle a few weeks ago...she loved it, first time for her on that wonderful road.

She rides fairly sedately, so no mach .9 for us. Damn, I ride so much differently when she's taking up the rear!!!

Not sure she's ready to follow a pack of FJR's just yet, unless you promise to be on your best behavior! I really don't want her to feel pressured to keep up with the likes of us, if you know what I mean

Anyone interested in hooking up at Jimbo's for lunch? Would be great to see/meet you guys.

FYI, I'll be putting on a northern WV ramble in the spring. Maybe centered near Elkins or Canaan Valley this time. Last WV ramble was out of Bridgeport--great riding in this area and not far for us Ohio boyz...

Hiya, Mike!

Not a problem. One of the couples I ride with drives like a little old lady. Besides, I like to look at the scenery sometimes as well!

Care to meet up before heading out of Cow Town? I'll be riding with another couple who will probably be 2-up on a Harley (see above), and another solo rider on a Ducati. We are all on the north / NW side of town.

BG-

Sure...how about the Saturday in Canal Winchester exit on 33 at the BP station (west side of 33, you have to do a U turn to enter the BP).

Coffee break at 10:00, clutches out by 10:15?? Sound OK to you?? I figured it will be cccooolldddd in the am, so no need for an early start. The old lady pace would suite by wife (more like a pissed off old lady now that she' moved up to a VFR).

She did mention that she wanted to try 555 again, so that will be in the mix 'fo 'sho. You game for that? Obviously that changes the route...maybe 33 to 93 to 216 to 78 to 555 to 550 in Athens, 56 back to Jimbos? Wudduya think?

Denny-Sounds great. I figure 1:30--2:00 would be a probable arrival at Jimbo's time. Hope to see you again. Or if you want to meet up earlier to ride, I'm game. Perhaps somewhere on 78 or in Logan??

My mobile is six one four three six one five five nine zero...give me a buzz!
