I tried a search & didn`t find it so here goes. I have been using Rotella T 15w-40w in my 3 old wings & my 04 Roadstar & also used it in my 2 C-10 Concours`s . What i`m looking for, is it good to run this oil in the FJR ??? or is the Rotella T 5w-40w synthetic good to use. I know you can`t use the energy saving oil in a wet clutch system , because it`ll make the clutch slip & burn out. But just woundering if anyone has use this oil with no trouble??

I know stupid friday question

Yeah, It's good.

(edit: the Rotella 15-40 non synthetic works for me)

Six words sum up this mind-numbing religious issue: "Dirty oil, bad; clean oil, good."

It is far, far more important to maintain a reasonable change interval, than it is to agonize over which religion - er, oil - to use.

Historically, the FJR's engine does not like to spin through molasses.... so use an appropriate viscosity for your prevailing ambient temps. And of course avoid the "Energy-conserving" crap.

Otherwise... there is no real "right" or "wrong" oil, though some are better than others. Just like religion. :glare:

Exactly!!

If only there were some vast repository of information. Like some sort of superhighway. Yeah, an information superhighway. And wouldn't it be great if you could somehow search this information superhighway with some kind of engine?
Google search for best oil site:fjrforum.com

Yahoo! search for best oil site:fjrforum.com

Ask.com search for best oil site:fjrforum.com

Nah, let's get real. This is no futuristic Eutopia, this is the real world. Things like that don't exist.

:derisive:
One stop shopping.

I think you'll find (if you search the 'oil' threads) that many, here, have used both versions of Shell's Rotella T with continued success and probably no 'oil-blamed' problems?

But, with 7 bikes in your stable, maybe you should be looking for a 'bulk' source...? :)
