thanks guys for all the info,, if we could get some info comming up the Parkway ,, do we get off the Afton visitors exit ?? and hook up on 64??

looks like 3 bikes from Roanoke/Christiansburg including me ,,

Have any ride routes been planned?

If memory serves me correctly, about 60 miles down the BRP from Waynesboro, you can pick up rt 501 - there's a fun stretch of road that takes you towards Lynchburg. VERY fun road.

The directions from Rt 64 are:
- From Rt 64, take exit 94 for US-340 to WAYNESBORO/STUARTS DRAFT and go 0.20 miles (0.33 Km)

This puts you at the end of the exit ramp

- Turn RIGHT on US-340/STUARTS DRAFT HWY and go 0.18 miles (0.30 Km) [/i](Toward Waynesboro)

-Turn Left onto Lew Dewitt Blvd, Then...

Turn
LEFT on RED TOP ORCHARD RD and go 0.17 miles (0.28 Km)

(There's another right or left in here somewhere, but by this point you will be able to see Cracker Barrel)

- Turn
RIGHT on APPLETREE LN and go 0.01 miles (0.02 Km)

I'm really looking forward to meeting you all and talking all things FJR.  Not sure at this point my/our participation after the restaurant.  Lorie hasn't ridden since last summer and I'm not sure how the 2+ hour ride to the meet place will affect her.  Of course it'll be her first time on the Rick Mayer seat for more than a half hour - maybe she'll want to go on forever!

Is the Super 8 folks have mentioned in Waynesboro??

SF - Jim

Please see additions to above quote

FYI while approaching the Cracker Barrel you will drive right past the entrance to the Super 8 parking lot. They are basicially in walking distance of each other.

Yo - Chris here from Centreville, VA (Northern VA). Thanks to JimLor for making me aware of this thread. I get back from a week-long biz trip on the 10th, so I have some major wife schmoozing to do. But right now I plan on being there.

I'm a newbie to group rides - always gone solo before - but would love to join in the fun. Won't have a route to share though - can I photocopy someone elses?

Cheers

'04 FJR (but new to me!)

'04 Roadstar Silverado

Ain't life grand?

Welcome, look forward to meeting you (and everyone else too)

My only group ride experience is from EOM last year (unless 2 or 3 bikes is considered a group)

We're up to about 10 people now aren't we??--This is going to rock.

Toophast

At least you're south of the mason dixon line. If they let a yankee like me join, I'm guessing they'll be OK with you joining.

Hi guys, I'm definitely going to come to the first OD Feej rider's Group & uphold the Tidewater torch. I've gotten two nays out of 3. Jaybird is still a possibility. Joe (VBFJR) & Jeff (ridgerunner) don't think this weekend is gonna' work. Bummer, good folks, here.

I'm sure that sometime this coming week I'll be hearing from Jay.

Please, if there's anyone that I don't know of leaving the Hampton Roads area Saturday morning, please let me know. If need be, I'd rather not ride alone if I don't have to.

I've looked at planning a loop... but, it'd involve riding into WV. (going thru Goshen Pass (Rte 39) & riding Rte 28... 28 being the road that I'd REALLY like to ride) Not far into WV, but in. Not sure if we'd have the time... but the route would definitely be worth it. This is an "awesomely" sweeping road.

Will see ya' next weekend.

Please, all... know that you're welcome to ride. We's gonna' have sum' fun! Cannot wait to meet & greet.

Heidi

Take the Afton exit off the BRP (this is mile marker zero as it is the start of the BRP) and follow the yellow line approx 100 yards past a gas station to the stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign, cross under I 64, go to the light and turn left onto the I 64 entrance ramp, follow signs for I 64 West (bear to right after on entrance ramp) after about 4 miles on I 64 look for exit 94 signage, take exit 94, at end of ramp turn right (north on 340 toward Waynesboro) get immediatly into the left hand lane and turn left at the first stop light (onto Lew Dewit Blvd) get into the left lane and turn left onto Red Top Orchard road (at the first stop light) drive past the entrance to the Super 8 and continue to Cracker Barrell.

When you come down the exit 94 ramp you are actually looking right at the Cracker Barrell--just have to do a little "round about" to get there.

Randy and others coming I 81 to I 64 east to exit 94: When you come off exit 94 the exit ramp splits--bear right and head north on route 340 towards Waynesboro, at the second light turn left onto Lew Dewit Blvd. then left at first light onto Red Top Orchard road past the Super 8 entrance to cracker barrrel

Heidi,

You mentioned it would take you four hours...are you coming straight in on I 64, or are you wiggling in on the back roads...seems like it would only be about 3 hours on the interstate...just a thought
