We are planning a trip around the Gaspe' Peninsula and the first stop is Old Quebec Ctiy for a day and two nights. I have been on line on several occasions trying to find a decent place to stay in the Old City so we can just walk from there. Seems everything I find is too expensive or has shared bathrooms, neither aceptable.

I thought maybe some of our friends to the north may have vistited there and would have some suggestions? Something in the range of $100 US (+-), maybe a bit of a view, a secure place to leave the bike.

Am I asking to much? Thanks in advance.

I am assuming you are going after spring? BTW July is usually the busiest time around there (many activities).

Old Quebec is full of history and heritage. I doubt you will find anything cheap there.

Find a place in St Foy or someplace close for the night and cab to the old part and walk around.

St Foy is 10 minutes away.

The last time we were there we stayed at the Hotel Clarendon. The location was great. We were there a few days and never even thought about driving anywhere. The hotel itself is older but was very clean. The room we had was huge but that was the only room I saw. I can recall what we paid but it must have been reasonable. The hotel uses an underground secure parking lot right across the street. The price was good (or I wouldn't have stayed there).

Great suggestion. I looked at Hotel Clarendon and in the process found Hotel Du Vieux. Both around $140 US. Both have excellent ratings. Both say secure underground parking across the street under city hall, so they must be about on the same corner. Maybe I'll move it up to June to avoid a little traffic?

Thanks again.

Thanks for your help. Found some nice places for $140 US in town. OUCH! But the wife is gonna love it so that's fine.
