WA. Highway 155 bypass Omak to Nespelem. Leaving Omak on 155 heading S., watch carefully and on your right, just past the lumber mill/log yard, is a nondescript road (first right) that is variously called Omak lake road, or Columbia river road, it will take you around the lake and along the river to highway 155 a little S. of Nespelem. It is about 43 miles of bleakness, eastern Wa. style but is virtually deserted. We did a loop and came back 155 to Omak. WOW anyone ever have their face shield pressing against your nose. Highway 155 is a cooler ride Temp wise and sceneryish but go back to the word deserted.
