Got a new Shad 48 Topbox to replace my road rashed old one and I thought I'd try the old key in the new box. Yup, it worked.

Both sets of keys are identical. Stamped on the keys and the lock is the key code: K233. Any other Shad owners with the same lock/key?

I figure that there aren't enough Shad boxes around for me to be concerned with theft, but I was curious to see if we all have the same key and lock.

Being in the construction business, it reminds me of heavy equipment keys. One Cat key will pretty much start any piece of Cat equipment. Same with other makes. That's why I have a hidden and locked ignition switch on all of my equipment.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks...

My brother-in-law has received the Shad48 (in NJ)...just waiting for the brake light kit to arrive, then it will all be shipped together to Oz.
