Today I had the honor to witness my nephew, Douglas, and 550 of America's best become Marines at the MCRD in San Diego. I can not describe the pride I feel for what this young man has accomplished. They are what make this country great! Thank you to Doug, his brother David, in the USAF, and all who have served the USA!

Many congratulations to Douglas and his buddies. I can't imagine how proud you must feel.

Not long ago, one of my son's friends went to Iraq with the Marines. It was tough to get my head around why they would send little boys over there instead of men. Somehow, I had a mental image stuck, of the boys playing soccer when they were about five years old. And now, this kid is fighting for his country. I'm pleased to say that he completed his tour of duty and returned home intact, and very grown up.

Burk,

This is awesome. I remember you mentioning this at WFO. Very happy for you and your family. I understand that pride - grew up the son of an F-15 pilot and overseas most of my childhood. Awesome feeling.

AWESOME to see how the younger Americans are stepping up ! God Bless & watch each & every one of them, past & future !

Thank him for me and may god bless him.

My nephew is currently serving in the sand and I am immensly proud everyday that I think of him

Congrats to your nephew! We all should be proud of him, and all our young men & women who have stepped up!

God Bless Our Troops!

My gratitude to him and your family for contributing. Yep, anyone that supports a marine is helping us all. You being there at his ceremony is the kind of support every guy/gal in the military loves. So thanks for being there.

Congratulations to your nephew on becoming a newly minted Marine. When my son graduated from Parris Island last December it was hard to keep my pride in him contained so I know exactly how you feel. Tell him Thank You from The Axeman for his service to our country. :clapping:
