I have never seen anything like that. Why not tow and enclosed trailer with the wing, sop and trailer all in one place? Holy mother...
short version: I emailed my brother last week about the PIA it was taking the pipes off for an oilchange on a VSTAR1100 (he knew somebody buying one). He emailed back saying his shop charges him for more than 2 hours labor on an oil change on his '09 wing because they have to take off a lot of the fairing!
While there are some differences between the '03s and the '08s, I'm not sure what would have changed that would affect oil change procedures. My '03 requires only the removal of the right side panel, just above the rider's foot, to refill the engine. Nothing needs to be removed to drain the oil, and, while flat rate might include removing the "chin piece" where the driving lights mount, I've yet to see anyone do it. I think his mechanics are including time for a l-o-n-g lunch! (He should at least request a kiss before he pays the bill!)
