I don't have Skyway's set-up, but rather a very cheap system of my own design, made from components purchased at Wal-mart for under $30.00 (for a pair). Effectively similar, w/a gallon jug on both sides. I only put it on the bike when I'm going on a ride long enough to need it- not for my daily commute, normal riding around town, ect. Possibly for a trip to Kansas City (~120mi each way) in warmer weather, but not this time of year. From the looks, his system is as easy to add/remove as mine, less than 5 min. a side, more like 5 for both. I just don't want anyone messing w/it while I'm at the grocery store, at a movie, ect. My S.O. doesn't ride, so I could leave the base on all the time, but I do have to be a bit more careful getting on & off & it's just easier to pull it when I'm not on a trip/longer ride.I will be purchasing a Skyway Hydration system sometime before the season start for us here in the Midwest, since I didn't get one for X-Mas.
I am wondering what current owners of Skyways Hydration system do. Do you leave it on all of the time, or do you take it on and off for short vs long rides? How hard is it to take on and off?
I'm not sure if I would want it on the bike when I am commuting around the Chicago area.
