Would someone please explain the term "soft paint" as I have seen it mentioned more than once in the forum. Isn't the paint clear coated on the FJR.

Does it scuff or marr easily.

thanks

mac

All I've done is ride 20k placid miles and the sides of my tank are so messed up by my knees that Macquiar's scuff fix doesn't work on it.

Get a side of tank protector.

Or -- shave your beastly legs and make sure the stubble doesn't abrade the tank paint!

OKmac...it`s been mentioned over and over by new owners(of new bikes) about "soft" paint. Yes it`s clearcoat and yes it marks easily. What many fail to realize is, while the bike parts were "painted" and assembled a while ago, the surface hasn`t properly cured yet. That can take months before it is sufficiently hardened. Like any new vehicle, ya have to be real carefull with it till she "cures"! :assassin:
