I had the day off work with nothing to do so I went for a ride. Ended up riding 240 miles up to the Palomar Observatory via Palomar mountain road. Weather was perfect high of 51 and low of 40 at the observatory with some snow and ice on the ground.

The rain we had last week left the roads in bad shape. I had to cross a few mud washouts and swerve around some boulders. I ended up riding a lot slower then I usually do but it was nice sit back and enjoy the scenery.

I only took a few pictures

I love that windscreen! Is that a C baily's? What kind of cans you got on there also? They look different. Any Ride beets the hell out of going to work.

The shield is a CB 2+2+ in dark gray tint. The cans are two brothers carbon fiber M-5's.

Yeah when work makes you use your vacation time before the end of the year you should take full advantage of it. :yahoo:

I was at the observatory once many years ago. About '71 or '72. It's a long story. There may or may not have been some sensory heightening products involved.

I lived in the San Diego area through much of the 80's before my job took me to Central Florida. Some things I don't miss, but I did have some great rides up to Palomar, El Capitan, Borrego Springs, and other destinations up there. I had several bikes from an old kick-start HD, a late 70's Triumph Bonneville, and a '76 Honda 750 SuperSport. Great times!

It's really nice up there during the weekdays. That's the only time I will go. There's hardly any traffic and it's nice a quiet, very peaceful. Nice photos!
