I did the Barbarian Jumper Mod on my '08 several months ago. Boosting the CO values from all 10s to all 15s helped the throttle "stumble" at low load quite a bit. I am now, however, looking for a PC III to "cure" the problem. (Missed a couple on this forum over the last couple of weeks. I am still looking).

My question is prior to installing the PC III should I reset the CO values back to stock? Any advice (and logical technical explanation) would be gratefully appreciated.

Chris

If you are using a pre-made map on the PCIII (either the "stock" map that comes with it, one of the others provided by DynoJet, or one of the others floating around here), then you want your CO settings to be stock. These maps were tuned with CO settings at stock, so you won't get intended amount of fuel if your CO settings are not stock.

If you get a custom map tuned for your bike, then it doesn't matter. I would still suggest reverting to stock CO settings just because it gives a common starting point so that you can either share your map with others (without needing to instruct them to adjust their CO settings) or simply compare your custom fuel map to others.

A PCIII fuel map is only optimal for the exact bike and atmospheric conditions for which it was created. A different bike with the same exact exhaust, etc., is a close enough match, but start throwing in changes to fueling (CO settings) or airflow (exhaust/intake) and there's no telling how close the map will get you to the intended tune on your bike.

Thanks brother! Appreciate the advice/explenation. I will set the values back to stock when I get the PC!

Glad you're still around to take about it, that looks pretty nasty . That fullface helmet saved a nice dental/plastic surgery bill too. Gutless wonder that hit you didn't have the balls to man up, that person will have their day, the big guy is always watchin.

Good luck with the new FJR and the PC III.
