Hi Gang

I was at the MotoGP at Phillip Island over the weekend in a corporate facility so we were right on the front straight about 300 metres beyond the finish line and about another 300 metres to the first corner. Wow I didn’t realise how ******* fast 330 KPH is when something passes you at that speed!

We (4 mates and I) registered with the Barry Sheen memorial ride which just happens to start in my home town approx 3hours ride from Phillip Island. We buggered off before the ride because it would take 5 hours or so with approx 1000 bikes heading in the one direction.

We arrived at the Island picked up our Key for the house we rented for the week and a very nice and comfy place, some joints however are bloody terrible! We did some shopping and unpacked then meet up with the Barry Sheen ride as it was coming on the Island, perfect timing!

Then 1500 Bikes rode to the track (this is on the Thursday) and did two laps! Man what a track and what a view!

We then spent the next three days watching some amazing things! We stayed the extra night to miss the traffic and were home the next morning by 0900hrs. My friends however had a 2000 K ride ahead of them.

I have a new found respect for all and I mean All bike racers of any grade! There was a race called the Australian 125cc Championship where you can buy a unit for $20,000 AUD and be competitive. There was this Shelia who rode and was second! But leading at times. She is a Merchant Banker and psych’s out the other riders by doing one armed push-ups in pit lane!

Pickies to follow

:D

Glad you could make it. What were the attendance numbers for Sunday?
