Looking for a new cell phone carrier for my wife.

Voice only, she would not text if she could figure out how to do it (she is non-technical.)

She has Verizon........... the bills went from ~$50 a month to $130 for December then $200 in January! Discovered her plan expired they never notified her and then they jacked up her rates through the roof!

We then re-signed her up last night............. So they shut off her phone (until the new one gets here in a week?)

I called and was told "that phone has been shut off, I can't tell when or why".

I needed her phone data to fix it (they just shut it off and don't have this data???!!!??!!)

I called back with the phone data and was told "No, that phone is connected and working" It isn't!

I have AT&T for a land line........ last month my land line went out (turned out to be a bad connection on the pole outside our home). which took out our phone, DSL & VOIP. When I called AT&T they told me someone would be out in 5 DAYS!

My work phone is T-Mobile, I can get reception at home sometimes if I do a handstand on the roof with one leg pointing North & one leg pointing East!

SO:

Verizon= Great reception, no customer service!

AT&T= no customer service!

T-Mobile= no reception.

Are there any good cell phone carriers out there? Is Sprint any good?

The short answer is ....NO! They are all a bunch of **** heads with call centres in India.

I think you pretty much shot the chance you're going to find a phone company you actually like with the thread title you chose. ;)

The glass is going to be mostly empty for you and it's all about least of evils. You hit the majors other than maybe Sprint Nextel or going to a regional provider like a U.S. Cellular.

You might try the CNET review I found when Googling major cell service provider reviews.

Seriously, no... The big companies (regardless of what industry they're in) all suck, and the little phone companies can't compete.

Consumers have been told over and over again that bigger companies are better. It just ain't so...

Ya mean the cell providers read the Forum here, and now they're all gonna be p.o.'d at him?

but +1 about CNet. Best source of good techy info I've seen.
