I hope this works. I did a test and all was well with the link until I posted it in the Rides section then the link would not work ??

These FJR'S sure are a nice way to travel !

Planning a trip to North Western Canada for 2007.

Enjoy

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

Could you offer any tips or suggestions as far as the gear you carried for camping 2 up? What type and how did you pack it? Thanks.

Extrememarine,

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked the videos. I find myself watching them when I need a pick me up after a bad day at work.

As for the camping gear, stick with the gear for backpackers. There focus is Lightweight and Packability. These are the same concerns for motorcycle campers, so whatever brand you prefer it should work well for your needs.

I recommend a 4 man tent for 2 up camping. You need the additional room for all your gear inside the tent if its raining. Stay away fron Down sleeping bags. Although the are lightweight and they pack down very small they loose there insulating properties when wet ! And the last thing you want is to be Wet and Cold. Get compression sacks for you bags as well, they compress them down to a small pack.

I would not camp if I could not have my Thermarest Pro Lite Mattress, and they deflate and roll into a very small roll.

I put 2 sleeping bags, 2 thermarest's, 2 pillows, cold gear, rain gear and misc stuff in my Givi 46 trunk.

The tent and 2 chairs strap on top of the trunk.

If you would like I could send you photos of what I pack and where it all goes, but in the end Motorcycle Camping is a learned behavior, and you are constantly changing what you pack and where you pack it !

Enjoy

John,

Planning a cross country trip this spring; photo's would be great, that would give me a starting point. I have the Yamaha top trunk, which I think is smaller than your GIVI. Also, do you have the OEM rear spring or aftermarket? Wondering if I should upgrade the shock/spring for 2 up + full gear. Thanks for the info, ride safe.
