I called the dealer and told them to start unpacking and assembly of the 08 FJR. :yahoo: I will pick it up this Friday. I have been reading (everyday!) on this bike, have had two test rides, and I am finaly getting one.

I have a copy of the "checklist" from here, but I wanted to put the question out to the forum of what all I should check before driving away from the dealer. I will be ridding single for the first few weeks so what is the recomended tire preasures? I have seen varying numbers from different places.

A full ride report will be written after this weekend. I'm probably going to have the 600 miles on her before Monday, so extra oil and a filter will be purchased along with the bike. I do not have the correct manometer at this time to do the sync, but I will have one soon. I have synced my VStar carb plenty of times and feel very comfortable doing the FJR throttle bodies, but my "home-made" manometer is only for one carb and would not work.

The excitement level is unexplainable! :clapping: I hope I don't blow a heart valve before I get there.

Any suggestion are appreciated.

Respectfully,

-Bandit

There's a reason for that....there isn't concensus of a single pressure for all situations. Since you didn't include specific weights, tire, riding style, etc.....it's speculation and usually opinion. You should probably check Best of NEPRT.

Have fun on your trip. It's going to be fun on most any tire pressure!

great congrats

Get there for some assem photo ops other than that, check the bags to make sure they are fastnened properly and that you know how to remove and install them... that would be an expensive lesson to learn boncing them on the highway ol and make sure you have non slip boots on and you keep it up right at stops otherwise it could get away from you...

chk your insurance price and get it covered, before you get there... i remember being in such a hurry to get mine that i forgot to get insurance and had to call and took the first one i found progressive stealers and they wanted 1800 a year, a week later i switch everything to state farm for 4 something.....

don't forget the first farkle

SLIDERS

:D

Congratulations. I run 40 on the front and 42 on the rear. I agree with Sonic that sliders should be your 1st farkle. Incredibly easy to install on the 2008. Probably a 5 minute job. Buy a set and have the dealer install them. Much cheaper than new plastic if you should accidentally drop your new baby. Enjoy.
