Decided to plan this ride to go check up on my very good friends that i have not seen in months if not more. Whats another reason to ride heh?

Put the GPS on, Sattelite Radio playing some eclectic music, dressed very warm, and headed off.

Reaching Ontario Cali on the 60 East bound, the wind was blowing, bike leaning  to compensate... I said no way I am going back..

First stop, Hemet

Weather cold, but clear...Don't see any bikes on this road yet..given it is cold.

Second stop on R3

R3 and 79

R3 is pretty good and twisty...again not a single bike...was the only one!

On the 79, finally saw 2 Harley on the side of the road, chatting...Slowed down, honked, both waved and OK signs, continued on 79

Stopped to take a few photos

Glider wanted to check out this Silver machine, so IT approached the bike..

The glider was not the only one who expressed interest...

Once in Julian, first glimps of snow :)

Me thinks, this is it, it can't get colder than this...In Julian, a very hot spot for tourists...the place was packed with minivans. Kids everywhere all bundled, looking for warm sheleter...lines of coffee shops spreading to the sidewalks. Waved at the kids...again THE ONLY bike out there...Saw a white Goldwing on the back of a flat bed...me is thinking road is getting ICY and this wing bit it...looked at the wing, no scratches..so I figured the guy/gal riding it, got too cold so they decided to tow it back. Notice I did not give any "mechanical" reason given some folks here have Wings as second Bikes ;)

Getting really cold Probably below 25

Got to Pine Valley, my good friends thought I was crazy coming down here in this weather :) . Nancy was pointing at the snow outside..I said what snow?

Went out, had a nice dinner off the 8 freeway (warm tortilla) soup...got dark so I decided to ride the 15 back north.

Stopped to get gas, people came by and asked if I had heated vest, jacket...pants..I said nope just old fashioned body hair :p

Not a single bike on the road, all were in there toasty little minivans watching DVDs...

Came home about 10:30 PM. This was the trip...

Hope you enjoyed them...

Ditto!

It doesn't matter where we ride our FJR'S as long as we can ride them when we can!

Thanks for taking the time to post your pics and write-up!

See you down the road...

MsNASCAR and I were just talking about you and Bob n' Nanc yesterday morning. We were talking about all of us getting soon. Our '03 is in the hospital and the new child, the '07 in the garage, while we were puttering around the house. The new kid still needs the mandatory break-in before we venture out.

PM me BigDolma

That place has been closed for quiet sometime. Last year, that little entrance must have been filled with over 50 tumble weeds :)
