Pirelli Jackpot!

So, a little while ago I was looking at new tires for my 05 FJR on Amazon. I spied a set the Pirelli Angel ST's for $235 and went all the way to check out to see what the final cost would be after taxes. I saw an alert that asked if I wanted to use my Discovery Rewards Points that amounted to $200.00+. Wellllll, hellooo....I clicked YES asap (before my wife could ever snatch them up), so I'll be receiving a pair of Angel ST's for $18.91! Yeah baby!!! I don't even need tires right now, but like I said, I couldn't leave those points out there for my wife to see!

Check the dates on them.
GT replaced the ST quite a long time ago although I think they continued to make both. GT last a lot longer...
Still, its a great deal.

The dates are guaranteed to be post 2020.

The FJR, being a rather heavy-set girl, should be wearing A-spec Pirellis whichever formula/ tread pattern you choose.

After a 20-year break from riding, I got my Honda vtr1000. Friends of mine at the time recommended the Michelin Pilot Road two. For my sport bike these were so much better than anything I had ridden in the 90s. So I have stuck no pun intended with the Michelin since 2009. And to this day I don't consider myself Rich enough to experiment on Tire choices. So, the Honda is on the Michelin CTS, and the FJR is on Michelin 6 gts. I know there must be other really good tires out there, but I am completely overwhelmingly satisfied with Michelin. And now friends are putting automobile tires on the rear, and some great big Harley-Davidson Tire on the front. And they are wowed at the handling. And these are guys that ride 20 to 30,000 miles a year.

As RossKean indicated, you'll want to be doubly sure about the date codes on any Angel ST offered to you. I thought they were discontinued years ago, and only ever used their first replacement (Angel GT) - loved 'em - just not so great longevity on our heavy/torquey Feejers I'm afraid.

Last coupla years, Pirelli offered an Angel II, and I think that was reputed to be better yet.

Of course, none of these tires are soft on your wallet. Good luck in your quest.
