I was at the Stealer the other day talking about the vibration I have in my Pilot roads only when I cross into tripple digits. We were discussing other brands available and I was using the info I have gathered from this site as to why I did not really want to put metzlers back on the bike. I was told that he thought Pirelli owned Metzler and he thought the casings were made the same for both tires. I have no idea if this is true. I am going to do a bit af googling and see what I can find but I thought I would throw it out here as well.

Pirelli does own Metzeler. The easiest way to get an answer to your question is to call them at 1-800-747-3554, you can ask for Jeff Johnson for info about the tires.

from another thread in this Forum:

Someone (I believe on a different forum) stated he talked to a Metzler rep. at a Cycle show and asked the question: "what's different from the Pirelli Strada and the Metzler Z-6?" Answer:

"Pirelli owns Metzler. As well, the Strada goes beyond the 2-3 yr. old Metzler technology and is the same profile, same turn in but sticks better and lasts a bit longer. It is a more advanced technology than the Z-6." (I see wear bars down in the tread!)

Well..., it would make marketing sense (to me) that Pirelli wouldn't have the same tire application with a different brand name they mfg. surpass their own. " If you like the Z-6, you'll like the Strada even more." (these are made in Germany)
