25th June UPDATE:

Update on Shaun, he has been transfered to private room in trauma ward. Shaun is still very hazy and for the majority of time not sure of where he is. We are still waiting on news of when he will be moved to the UK. Shaun is still however is in a racing frame of mind and has removed all surgical metal framework with a 15mm spanner. Bless him!

Once again we would like to thank all your positive vibes and messages of support.

Shaun is one of the characters of British racing and the TT. He crashed on Tuesday at speed. He has been in intensive care since the crash and is stable but serious. He has broken an arm, both legs and his pelvis, and has facial injuries. He is in an induced coma at the moment. The good news is that there is no sign of brain damage. His family have flown from New Zealand and are with him.

Hang on in there Shaun!

That blows.... Hope he pulls through and heals up.

I have never had such a love hate relationship like I do with motorcycles.....

Better news - Friday morning
From Shaun's family.

Once again thank you for all the wishes for Shaun's speedie recovery. It is a comfort that so many people he has met and known over the years are thinking of him.

Latest report is that he has come out of surgery after many hours and much work done to his bones but still on the ventalator machine. His condition is still serious but stable.

Thank you to all who have posted good wishes for his recovery.

I was just about to post something similar. 7 Hours in surgery apparantly. Thats got to be a good sign that the docs feel he is strong enough for them to repair broken bones. If he was really touch & go they would wait. So many stories and roumers coming in from the Island, you don't know which to listen to.

Thanks for that Randy. Not much info to be had here.

One story I have heard 2nd hand about the other crash was that a marshal mistakenly thought that the last bike had gone through and opened the course for spectators to cross. Another race bike came though and caused carnage. This came from a friend of someone just back from the Island who apparantly witnessed the whole thing. How true it is I dont know, but if it is true it will be the second fatal accident in 3 years caused by a marshal. The last time in 05 a marshal ran across the track to a broken down bike and was not quick enough, she and the rider that struck her were killed.
