I don't do this much ... post "off-topic" stuff, even in a Forum designed for it, because it's not why I come here. I don't object, but I refrain :)

However, something happened the other day that moved me to write. I posted my article on the political Blog that I have used for many years now. The politics are not to everyone's taste, but for the sake of this article they can pretty much be ignored.

This is about education and, specifically, Marching Bands.

It's a great human interest piece and as some of you will have kids in Band, or maybe you were there yourself, I thought that one or two might be interested:

You are mistaken about one being able to ignore the politics presented the post.
I work in education, the politics is hard to ignore, but I won't discuss them here.

I am immensely proud of our kids, we all are.

 
To me this speaks not only about the character of those students, but to the character of the parents, teachers, and townspeople as a whole. Well written and much appreciated.
