Motorcyclist recovering from injuries after plastic wrap prank
July 3, 2005 - 9:47AM WYOMING (AP) - A western Michigan motorcyclist is recovering from injuries after crashing into plastic wrap that had been stretched across a roadway as a prank.

Jim Anderson suffered a fractured rib and internal bruises after he hit the industrial-strength wrap at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday while riding his Harley Davidson home. The 48 year old said he thought the plastic wrap was fog.

Wyoming, Michigan Police say three teenage boys told police they put the wrap between two sign posts as a prank not expecting something as small as a motorcycle to come down the street.

Police haven't decided whether to charge them.[/quote

Neglect stupidity? Young, dumb, ignorant and thoughtless? It seemed to be a good idea at the time? Never ride a Harley Davidson?

Alan

Link worked for me... what are they deciding?... FUCKING pricks should be castrated. Until harsher sentences are handed out, all of us bikers can expect this non-committal bull-butter.

Undecided, huh?

Try laying a telephone pole on the R/R tracks.

See how long it takes the police to charge your sorry @$$ :butcher:

Stef

PS: Dig this. A friend of mine was driving on the right lane of a German autobahn when a Mercedes-Benz test driver doing 143 MPH rear-ended her rental car.

She rolled down the embankment several times before her wrecked Opel stopped.

She spent a week in a coma and will remember 2005 as a year spent in physical rehab.

The DA is still unsure whether to charge the MB driver. He believes my friend was hindering traffic (by doing 70 MPH in the right-hand lane). :nono:

See how long it would take to charge someone if it was a Copper or Politician that had been injuried?

Must not be too many bikes in Wyoming, Michigan if the cops can't decide if a crime has been committed! I agree with teerex51; lay that pole on the tracks and see how fast the charges mount up.

The exact same industrial wrap MC accident happened a tear ago. 3 A$$hats were involved then too. 2 MC ers were injured the previous year. With the new Laws interfering with Interstate Commerce is a Terrorist Crime. That stuff could cause body or paint damage to a car. They charged those in freezing weather that put water on a road to freeze at the top of a hill in the winter time. Whether it's throwing bolders off an overpass or whatever. If someone is harmed by your F#ckin around you shouuld be charged and convicted. TJ :assasin:

Attempted Manslaughter 1st degree, at least. Mongo would still get a shot at 'em.

If someone is harmed by your F#ckin around you shouuld be charged and convicted.
Amen, bro.
Oh and Rad? Don't know where you found Mongo but he's just PERFECT for the um, er, JOB!

The American Motorcyclist Association is taking on this exact topic. They are trying to get stiffer penalties for cagers that seriously injure or kill motorcyclists. Its amazing the slap on the wrist many cagers get when they are the ones causing the mayhem on our roads.

If you are not a member you should be. AMA member since 1985
