Well, I agree parking close is fairly important for most. And you know folks will get back to the cabins without dinner.

Lake Hope looks nice, but not very convenient.

I have my eye on a couple of other options in our budget price range...stay tuned.

While initially sounding good, the parking situation and the food & alcohol issues are making the cabins sound less appealing. Besides, the reservation system and space per cabin are probably making it more difficult than it needs to be....especially when the inevitable last-minute cancellation occurs and there is an empty bed or two in a cabin. I suggest just posting the route and the meeting time/place and let participants arrange their own lodging plans and partners.

I would agree with this. I stayed a a nice hotel in Logan Ohio a few months ago and it is just 25 miles from Athens. Baymont Inn, had a gas station and a new Bob Evans just across the street. Rooms were about 100 per night, not bad if you split it with someone. I'm very interested, will be watching to see what date gets picked.

Us poor folk are definitely hoping for a little better than this. Also, being a woman I may have a hard time splitting with someone & will need to foot my hotel bill alone. You know, guy's wives have a hard time with them splitting a room w/ a single woman.

Rooms at the Super 8 in Athens were about 80 bucks last year, spent a couple of weekends there. Worked for us. Dave

Riders--June 5-6 are the Ramble Dates. I just have a few more places to call and possibly check out first. Hang tight, we'll have a place to spew all the kaka the collective can dish out. :lol: But it will be in Athens, or darn close.

Seriously though, I've talked to a few hotels in Athens and am in the process of making a final decision. Dates, hotel contact info and group codes will be posted at soon as possible. Looks like the main graduation at Ohio University is the week after...Hampton, Super8 and Baymont have told me reservations for our week should be no problem.

No worries, the ramble is happening and we have time to book.
