I am finding with my day rides, I am ending up on dirt type roads for parts of the ride. Not dirt track, but dirt roads. While I handle them with my Feejer, it's clearly not made for them. Most of the rides are asphalt, but you never know when you're gonna hit the dirt roads. Again, it's a small percentage of the ride.
Which raises the question: would a bike like the 1200GS, or a Multistrada, do better with the type of riding I'm doing, and with those roads? And given that I love the way my FJR handles, accelerates, curves, behaves, am I giving up too much to get little gain?
(I suspect the right answer is to get a dual sport in the 650 range, but let's presume that I'm in a one-bike world if I want to remain in my house. Which I do.)
Comments from the assemblage would be welcomed.
