My apologies if this info has been posted already - I haven't had a chance to look while at work today.

I actually don't really know Ponyfool (Scott), we only have some mutual friends on the job here in Portland. However, when I saw the below news, my concern equaled that of a close friend. Don't know if Scott has been on the board since he was hurt. If not, he likely will soon and I wanted to post this info in case anyone wants to send some get well wishes his way. The below news is from www.kgw.com

Officer injured in struggle with suspect

A Portland police officer may have a broken neck after a chase that ended with the sergeant and suspect wrestling to the ground, according to authorities.

The officer's jaw was broken in the struggle, some of his teeth were knocked out, and his finger was broken. He also suffered a possible broken neck, according to Sgt. Brian Schmautz with the Portland Police Bureau.

It all started on SE 79th Avenue, just south of Division around midnight. That’s where Sgt. Scott Westerman said he first tried to pull the driver over but the man took off.

Westerman chased the suspect in his car for about five minutes until the suspect stopped and fled on foot near the intersection of 74th and Foster, police said.

Sgt. Westerman eventually caught up with the suspect and a struggle ensued, Schmautz said. Westerman was able to overpower the suspect, but not without getting injured.

Westerman has been with the bureau for the past 15 years. He is now recovering in a neck brace, Schmautz said.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.

I know I'd get into big trouble for posting what I really want to say. :angry2: Lets just leave at that.

Hope you get a speedy recovery. :(

Wow, nail that ******* to a slowly sinking chunk of driftwood!

Get better soon, PF! And thanks for making our streets safer.

I just posted this on Maximum-Suzuki...he has a lot of friends over there as well.

Someone will have contact info, and or confirmation.

Don't post personal info here. If you get it have a PM sent to you and reply that way.

Scott, I don't think that person wanted your company that evening :D

Get well soon.

FJR_PIG: Are you saying that ponyfool is the officer injured and MAY HAVE A BROKEN NECK?!

WHOA! Prayers and best wishes to ponyfool, his family!!

Please keep us informed so we can see how we can help out our fellow rider!

And DOUBLE-DAMN TO HELL for that ******* who did this! :angry2: :angry2:

Wow! Teeth knocked out, broken jaw and finger, a possible broken neck and he still won the fight. Here's to a speedy recovery and hoping your opponent suffers. :drinks:

sure hope PF opened a really big can of woop *** on that guy.............and it wasn't caught on some morons video :angry2:

Man that blows... I hope, I mean I really hope what the media reported was/is exaggerated and he's not that bad.

I hoped he kicked that guys ***.

People are stupid. If a man with a badge and gun ask you to stop, you stop. I think we were taught that in the 1st grade, maybe even kindergarten. :/

Wishing Scott a speedy recovery. Hopefully, the "broken neck" reference is to more minor fractures.

Most or our jobs don't have that difficult or unpleasant a task . . . ever.

Thanks for letting us know about this.

I am just sick at all the nutcases out there willing to hurt somebody, so they can do whatever tthe hell they want. PF, when you read these messages, I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery. :(

Thanks for doing the dangerous job you do so I can sleep better at night.

And people: remind me never to get in a fight with him. Those injuries and he subdued the guy? I wonder what the OTHER guy looks like? :dribble:

PF get well soon, and get back onthe job .......... we need you.

and I hope the other guy is really UGLY now.

The officer's jaw was broken in the incident, some of his teeth were knocked out, and his finger was broken. He also suffered a possible broken neck, according to Sgt. Brian Schmautz with the Portland Police Bureau.

It all started on SE 79th Avenue, just south of Division around midnight. That’s where Sgt. Scott Westerman said he first tried to pull the driver over but the suspect, later identified as William Lloyd Depaz, took off.

Westerman, 40, chased Depaz, 32, in his car for about five minutes until the suspect stopped and fled on foot near the intersection of 74th and Foster, police said.

"The injury occurred when Depaz fell into the path of Sergeant Westerman during the foot pursuit," Schmautz explained. Westerman was eventually able to overpower and arrest the suspect.

Westerman has been with the bureau for the past 15 years. He is now recovering at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Schmautz said Westerman was wearing a neck brace and doctors were running additional tests to determine the extent of his neck injuries.

Depaz faces charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
That said, I doubt he's accessing the forum very quickly.

Slurping myself Bounce.
