.... and he avoided arrest? That's the most amazing part of the story.

Well, unless there was more information after the first post, I don't think we know if he was caught or escaped. In either case, the total disregard for the safety of everyone in the mall and on the street makes this guy an ******.

Either that or CBCNEWS that reported it is not a real news outlet and is more like The Onion.

Geezer, I made an assumption: Since the helicopter footage looked remarkably like cop-chopper video, I assumed there would be a snippet that showed arrest and a perp walk. Police would want credit for catching a true danger to public safety -- and that video shows first-class ****** behavior. Since there isn't one, I assumed he/she is still at at large.

Funny that there's no follow-up new stories about BOLOs with license plate number, bike make/model description, or height/weight/clothes for the perp.

The Canadian National Post says this: "Sgt. Dale Carr of the RCMP told Global News the video was put together for training purposes ..." which indicates to me that it could have been staged: interiors filmed while the mall was closed with actors as patrons and mall cops.

It appears no one was hurt, and only one scene shows the biker doing crazy **** in traffic or being pursued by police vehicles with flashing lights. Let's not forget that BC is a often-used location for movie and TV filming, too. Hmmmmm.

If it was staged, the RCMP deserve an Oscar for originality and videocraft. Did they add the Hell's Angels bit at the end? Classy.

Local radio reported this morning suspect got away. Motorcycle was stolen and recovered. Looking for

white male in his 40"s.

Certain aspects may look staged, but if I were directing the film, I'd have included a lot more pedestrians leaping out of the way.

No doubt it's an edited compilation of footage from different security cameras as well as vehicle mounted cameras, but evidence so far supports that it is of an actual, unstaged event.

If the rider actually swiped a HA member's bike, it's not too surprising he also rode like an idiot, albeit a somewhat talented one.

The conversation between the observer and pilot was priceless. "Did he drive through Walmart on a motorbike? YES!" Would love to see an update to this story, if it's a put on, it's an elaborate one, but my money is on some dufus that got real lucky that he didn't hurt anyone.

Yup, the owner of the bike will be fined C$13.5 k for 58 traffic violations. That must be a record of some kind.

And Surrey makes the headlines again, but what the hell, it's a nice change-up from stabbings and drug

gang killings.
