Took a quick ride last night w/forum member "smithe68" who is here for some training in Idaho Falls. We were standing around in front of his hotel at the Falls next to our 2 FJR's, and a Prius pulls up and this guy goes "nice bikes!" We go thanks, and he says--"hey come to this event we're doing tomorrow. You heard of KLIM gear?" (they're a local company)

I say yeah--I'm from here, I've heard of you guys. I saw your gear in some Yamaha ads for the Super Tenere. The guy goes, oh yeah, that was Jonah Street in the ads. He was a real jerk to work with, what a tool!

We're kind of sitting there confused, and he goes--Jonah, you don't have a comeback? Then he starts laughing and goes, hey this is Jonah Street.

So we sat there and talked with them for a few minutes then they took off. What are the odds of that, here in this little town?

So now you know who's in those photos....

Spud,

That's because Idaho is a neet place! I have a couple of old buddies up there from the 'Nam days. One is in Twin Falls and the other in Jerome. Touratech was really supporting Jonas Dakar efforts with some nice "T " shirts last winter for $20.00. He did pretty well, good to see an American in the race!

And Spud, you lost me. I have no idea what you were trying to convey. Maybe I need to go eat lunch.

Basically, Jonah Street pulled up in a Toyota Prius and said "nice bikes." Which I thought was pretty cool...

Now, go have lunch :p

********...they were sitting in a hotel on Jonah Street in Idaho Falls, some guy pulls up in a Toyota Pious, he's been smokin' dope, and didn't make a lick of fukin' sense.

Skooter, I'm with ya on this one.....got yer back! (tire) :p

Spud, you have to cut our Skooty some slack. Big eared doofus has never heard of the Paris-Dakar Rally and doesn't know the Baja 1000 or any other offroad M/C Race!

I thought Jonah's buddy, who was driving, was making fun of Jonah, who was sitting in the passenger seat. Right, or do I need lunch too?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...Lunch.

Got to meet Jonah last week at a Touratech event here in Seattle. He went over his last Dakar rally down in South America. Showed off his own photos taken during the race and gave some behind-the-scenes commentary on everything. Really, really nice guy. Pretty humble too. That encounter sounds just like something that would happen with him.

To clarify, it was the owner of Klim driving the Prius and Jonah was in the passenger seat. The next day I stopped by Klim's HQ in the metropolis of Rigby, ID and Jonah was there with the Touratech team. There was some pretty sweet dual-sport porn all over the parking lot. This company from Boise is giving away a free decked out KLR to someone if they are active military.
