I always think twice, usually more. Now, I'm going to go puke. :puke: :puke:

... now, all you SafetyCrats just STFU, I know, I know..
were all the gory pictures of that guy really needed? That feller may have been doing a safe and sane 55 and got whacked by a big rig for all we know. Really now, not needed IMHO. Especially without a warning. And, if I was good enough, I StandItUp too. I might have to go get me a stunt bike..

And maybe a discount at your local medical facility for all those aches & pains for when you get older? ..... :derisive: ......

Now I know again why I am not an EMT. I always make a point to make a hefty donation every spring. I want them take good care of me. If I end up like that guy, maybe they can fit me in 1 shovel, bury me in a coffee can.

Geez CK, howz about a warning!! The wife just looked over my shoulder and saw those pics which as some can relate, didn't impress her in the least. Shock therapy is fine as long as you signed up for it! Give dcarver and the rest of us a break!

+1 Foul! Inappropriate ambushing of forum members.

In future, please post a link with an appropriate disclaimer.

Actually he was doing 175 and lost control then hit a tree that made him just go all to pieces!

Posted it without a warning for the WOW or SHOCK effect.

I hope that just one person sees it and the next time he or she wants to do something stupid, they will flash back to this photo and think again.

This is not to say if you have a clear road and no animals you can't do stunts, but think before you do.

I see too many young squids doing wheelies at 40, 50, 60 mph is rush hr. traffic. How smart is that?

So, I hope the photos work.

Then maybe the guy in the photo will have helped in some small way.

Whoa Don! What a great read. I have a smile all over my face, just imagining how much fun you had. I wouldn't even THINK of riding to that extreme, which made it all the more interesting to enjoy the ride vicariously. Talk about living each day as if it were your last!

The unexpected photos got my attention. I've seen them before and was more fascinated than shocked. I will even forward the images to my DD (the gothic funeral director and embalmer). However, I think a link with a warning would have been more appropriate. I can see why such photos might be included in this thread. The big smile has gone.

Where did you get that info. I've been to that website before and don't remember any description of that circumstance.

Also, I too have seen the young squid walking the wheelie in traffic. But, how many do you think reside here? C'mon, man, rule one in speaking: Consider the audience. I don't think there was any "value," shock or otherwise, with the people reading this thread.

I picked up the info about the tree on a different web site where the photo was posted. I can't confirm that it's true. He could have hit the tree and then been run over by an 18 wheeler. The end result is the same.

As for the statement, "C'mon man, rule one in speaking: Consider the audience." that is a great deal as to what is wrong with America today. Political correctness is killing is us. I do not want to turn this into a political thread,
offtopic.gif

but, no one wants to offend the audience, hence: a shop lifter can no longer be called a shoplifter. He or she is a "NON TRADITIONAL SHOPPER"

What the looters did in New Orleans was not stealing and looting it was, "SELF HELP HUMANITARIAN RELIEF"

a FAT lady or man is no longer a FAT lady or man. He or She is "A PERSON OF SIZE"
bsflag.gif
They are FAT people!

FNGGF.jpg

This lady is not, "a person of size" she is "FAT"

AND,--- I did consider the audience. It's all bike riders and many who like to do fun things on bikes. That is exactly why I posted the photo. I hate to see someone possibly kill themselves on a bike. Maybe, just maybe the photo helped one person. Unfortunately we will never know. I will choose to think it did help.

If I was politically correct in posting the photo : here is what the photo (and story in the paper would be like)

CB008561-1.jpg

" A young man, eco minded and concerned about the enviornment, by traveling on his gas saving motorcycle , was out for

an afternoon Celebration of Life when, examining a roadside tree, assended to his heavenly home. We all hope and

pray that he will be watching over all of us as we too travel through the beauty of this world"

Sorry, but I like my way better.

As far as how many squid are on this site. I assume you mean "none or not many", I would agree. However, that being

said, look at the responses to the original thread. All "us" old guys would like to be a squid again, and that is the

problem. What a squid can do, we (most of us here) can't do anymore! (We all think we can or would like to think that we

can) and that is the problem, if we try to do, what we probably can't, we could end up in the photo!

I don't want that to happen to anyone, hence the posting of the photo.

Talk about a warning! My gawd, you should have tipped us before we laid eyes on that awful image of the fat, fat, fat lady. I will have nightmares for weeks. Thanks a lot! But, then again, if it prevents just one person from gobbling an eclair...

Although the gore-fest was eye-opening, I respect the position that CK is taking. How far does political correctness have to go, to become ridiculous? Shop-lifter is a PC term for a thief, but now it's called something 'less offensive'? Get real.

The fat lady pic made me think twice about the ice-cream I was going to have, later this afternoon. Have you seen the picture of her sister?

I'm not going to stir the pot further by posting the actual photo, but betcha gotta click on that link, just to see.
