My 91 year old Mom who lives with me fell last night and I took her to emergency with a very painful shoulder and she couldn't move her left arm without pain.

After 5 hours at the hospital X-rays showed what I feared, she fractured her Humerous bone just below the shoulder.

I take her to the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to see what he says.

Thanks in advance folks.

BTW.....for you praying folks, her name is Margaret Soncrant

You know we tough our own stuff out but it really hurts when it is others we care for. Hope all goes well for you and your mom.

Thanks for posting this up. Sorry to hear about your mom. My mom turns 89 in 3 months and I'm reminded that at this age, bones are fragile. I'll certainly pray for your mom. Keep us posted??

Thanks folks.

For the good thoughts and prayers.

My Mom is a devout Catholic, it will mean a lot to her, and myself.

For years she would walk and pray the Rosary EVERY night.

She stopped only a couple years ago as her energy is very limited and she's not very mobile anymore.

I asked her one night who she prays for, she proceeded to name off about 100 people she prayed for by MEMORY!

I was astounded she could remember all those people!!

She got me a little misty as she was feeling down because of her injury and made the comment "maybe it would be better is I went to sleep and didn't wake up then I wouldn't be such a burden on everyone".

I said "Ma, you cared for me when I was little, now I'm returning the favor it's no big deal you're not a burden I WANT to help you".

I just hope she heals ok, at her age it's real slow sometimes.

Thanks again folks!

Praying for you and your Mother. It is amazing what they can do today with orthopedics. My Father just had is right hip replaced and he is 89. No worries but now his knee hurts.

Glad you are there to care for her. Remember to tell her how much you love her :)
