Bike mags indicate the AE 1/4 mile times in the 11.8 sec @ 118 mph range vs. my '04 with my time slips showing 11.2 @ 121 mph. The AE is supposed to be softer off the line resulting in the slower et but still has the hp resulting in 118 mph. The Gen IIs, both A and AE are geared slightly steeper than the Gen Is but have a longer swing arm for better weight transfer.

Because the electronic clutch engages way down around 1,800rpm the AE times tend to be in the 11.7 - 11.8 range. Once you have it "on the cam" in 1st, it goes like hell. If you want to cut off at least a sec the preferred method is to start on the centerstand, rev to 4,500, rock it forward and HOLD ON! This should get you sub 11's or very scared.
