For people planning to tour in Quebec in the days following CFR please be aware there is a major holiday on the 24th. Have accommodation booked in advance. I know this from a painful experience.

And the area will be crawling with traffic as everyone will be up opening cottages.

#1 reason why we pick the dates we did.

I would avoid the ferries on the Friday.

A backroads to Parc de la Maruricie and then up 155 to Lac Saint Jean

Saturday

Down the Saguenay valley either side is mean't to be spectacular, then take the Tadoussac \ Riviere du Loup Ferry to Gaspe.

Check the ferry availability and times though it's a mighty long way back to the first bridge.

+1 on the Saguenay/R de L ... I lived in Chicoutimi for 7 years... gorgeous country. How's yer French?

I did that ride last year and it is fantastic country. This year after CFR I was planning to run staright up to Matane on rt. 20 with a quick stop at the Motorcycle Museum. That would give me plenty of time to explore the Gaspe.
