I have been trawling this forum for instal info on a rostra cc.I have it all figured except the vss hookup.I have an 09 A which according to Ionbeam uses pulse stream from the ABS.Would someone be able to give me some pointers on this hookup? A pulse count on this circuit would be handy as well.

Ok, what an exhaustive effort but there is a ton of info scattered from a##hole to breakfast time and I'm very grateful for that.

Have most of this install sorted , would be very grateful if someone could tell me which wire to tap into for the clutch switch.I can't remember who first used this method i thought i wrote it down but can't find it in the reams of paper otherwise i would PM that person .

Gratefully yours

Ron,

I'm not that person, but it would be great if you take some pics and do a install report when you're done. I have the AVCC in mine, but as noted, they are getting hard to find and at some point the Rostra will be what we need to look at.

Fear Not, the AVCC is making a comeback. Check out Murphs kits. Seems he's bringing back an exact replica of the audiovox cc unit

Ron I konw this is an old post but thought I'd throw in my two cents. I have a 06 that I put the rosta on but first let me tell you I've put over a hundred cruises on cars and trucks from the audiovox line. The rosta i feel is a great cruise and thats why I wented to use it. The unit sits in the tray behind the tool tray with the cable routed right side forward above the heat sheild underneath the t bar. I cut a hole and slice in the sheild to feed the cable to the throttle. I bent and drilled the little tab and installed a nut and bolt with the bead chain clip that cames with the cruise. To ancher the cable I bolted two ring clamps together one to the stock cable one to the cruise.

The chain was not ussed as this cruise has lost motion built in, I have about 1/8 to 1/16 play in the cruise cable when the throttle is closed.

For the brake connection a bosch relay has to be used, when the brakes are applied the relay removes 12 volts from the cruise and applys a ground. The relay sits next to the cruise brain. I tried to use the vss signal from the abs but couldn,t get it to function I believe the signal is to high. Rosta makes an adptor for one of the cars that has a high signal and the yamaha was still to high to work. I bought a magnet kit and mounted the sensor right near the rear abs cable stay on the swingarm. I went to a craft store and got a package of magnets 8mm and cut them down with my dremel to fit in the brake bolt heads 180 degrees (2). I did the same on my son-in-laws stratoliner and this signal has worked well now for a year. The only way we can shut the cruises dowwn is with the brakes or off switch. I diddn't went any stray signals to enter the cruise. As far as performance goes it drops about a mile per hour when first set, then comes right up to speed and it holds it really well hills and valleys.Just fyi rostra is the oem cruise for victory the tech was telling me this when I called them about the vss signal Bill
