R1 Shifter Actuation Arm

I have it from a very good authority that the R1 shifter actuation arm will fit the FJR. The R1 arm is a little shorter which will make the shifter lever throw shorter. The R1 arm comes with the Heim joint already on it. Has anyone done this Mod to their FJR?

Mine actually has a modified stock arm. It does shorten the throw, but also makes finding neutral a wee bit touchier. A reasonable trade-off IMHO.

01 arm fits perfect-but no joint included. Don't know what that deal's about. But the mod works well.

Yes, I've had it on for a while. Mine took about 2 min to put on, no modifications necessary.

I can still find neutral just fine.

It worked fine on my '05, but I found it a bit "glitchy" on my '08.

Thanks everyone for your input. When I was told about this Mod I thought it was for the new Gen '09 R1 so that's why I posted it. Plus I have dial-up so it takes me forever to do forum searches and read through all the threads. I always felt like my FJR could use a shorter shift lever throw to help with shifting. For myself I found that when I bought my new '07 Sporty and new '08 FatBob HD's and now my new '08 FJR that they all had to stiff of a netural detent spring. I figure it's to prevent riders from complaining about trouble finding netural which seemed to be an issue for some riders on some bikes, especially older HD's. The Iron Head Sporty is a classic example of a clutch pressure plate that tended not to release squarely which made the clutch drag which made finding netural a real pain in the butt. That's why I won't work on an old Sporty clutch with out putting in a clutch tamer which makes the Sporty shift nice and aids in finding netural. I personally would shorten or replace (with a softer or shorter) the netural detent spring on any new bike I own.
