I have a Cox guard also. I used extra sticky foam in a few more places to keep the guard off the rad. I noticed the the screen on the guard wore a shiny spot on the fins about an inch or so above where the mount bracket is for the guard. I put sticky foam there, as well as around the perimeter.

Cox gaurd, I got one, a lot better than nothing but a little wimpy for the price I think. :bleh:

Hold on just second, gentlemen....

Please consider "keeping it in the family" and scoring your FJR radiator Guard from fellow FJR owner John Mortenson! He has been making them for a little while now, and has just finished prototyping a NEW "honeycomb" radiator guard for the FJR that he is about ready to market.

Here's the raw, unfinished prototype....

Pretty sweet, aren't they?

The honeycomb openings are small enough to catch small rocks, etc, but still large enough as to not adversely impact the airflow to the radiator (as we all know on this bike, the radiator needs every bit of airflow cooling it can get!)

More details on colors/pricing/etc with be forthcoming..... or, just email him at: [email protected]

John emailed me and they are working out a couple of "kinks" and then they are to go to anodizing. These are sweet, I can't wait for mine. Honeycomb pattern ROCKS!

Yep. Great that the FJR after market is so robust. Many of the options available today weren't back in "USA year 1" of the bike.
