Living in Florida means that getting caught inthe rain is a given. Riding home last night the water was collecting on my faceshield so bad that the on coming headlights almost blinded me. I wear glasses so flipping the shield up just caused the same problem on my glasses. I have tried rainX but it didn't seam to work very well. Since it seems that this board knows everything else, I thought you may have some suggestions.

I just periodically put my head up into the windblast above the windshield to clear it. I've seen RainX craze some plastics, so not a fan. You could rub a fresh slice of onion on it (don't laugh, old school trick that RainX is based on), but there are side effects that wouldn't be nice on a face shield...... ;)

Just reach up with your left thumb and wipe it off periodically.

I use Pledge furnitutre polish to clean my shield and it seems to have the same effect as RainX, although more temporary. I have only used RainX on the car so I don't know how it would work on plastic shields.

Some riding gloves are made with a shield wiper attached to the thumb. I normally just use a regular glove or a naked finger.

:D I got home on the wipe it with the glove method, but the thin film of water left behind created alot of glare form on coming head lights. I might try the thumb squeegee. At 6'6 my head is always in the straem of air above the windscreen.

An aftermarket screen is in my future but deciding which one has not proven easy.

Then there is the high-speed air flow shield clearing technique. The faster you go, the better you see.
