...Being the bare-knuckled motorcycle adventurer
that I am....I took a ride around town.
Yes, summer is long gone, and as winter settles in,
and snow and cold and the end of
motorcycling season is just around the corner .....
Just kidding!
Hahahahahaha!
It NEVER snows here, and seldom gets really cold, and we ride
year 'round!
This ain't feckin' Sudbury, you know!
Moving along.
Had to work a little on Saturday.
"Sir, the problem appears to be that someone made a doogie in your metered main."
(That always kills 'em. )
It was almost noon on Sunday before I threw a leg over my
Wicked Blue,
Generation TWO!
Fast as a sonofabitch and pulls like a freight train.
Headed from my villa in the 'burbs  down toward Sacramento proper.
Stopped by Sacramento Yamaha on the way. They were closed. Never shop there.
Roseville Yamaha is the choice of this area's discriminating FJR riders.
They're the best Yamaha dealer in the world. (And I get a discount every time I
mention them on the forum.)
Took a picture of me and my bike.
Then, I continued on by Cal Expo.
This is where the California State Fair is held every year.
Didn't actually go in, but I always like to stop and visit the bears.
Back onto the Cap City Freeway and into "downtown".
This famous bar is actually upstairs in this building.
Yeah, I know.
Bad idea.
Never been inside, ...but a fellow could easily break his ***
negotiating the dimly lit stairwell with the slippery steps coming
back down after a night of celebrating a victory with his softball team.
Stopped here and there in the quieter parts of town to breathe in the season and
snap a few more pics.
She's a BRICK - boomp-boo-boo---BAH!
- HOUSE!
As most of y'all are surely aware, Sacramento is the capital of California, so we've got
the capitol in the center of town.
Parked my viciously attractive 2006 nearby...
...and strolled around, making like a tourista.
They're putting up the Christmas tree,
but it appears they don't work on Sundays.
I studied the architectural and ornamental details of the structure.
Next - still clad in full motorcycle safety gear - I strolled around to the north side,
where I spotted a female California Highway Patrol officer, on a HORSE!
Her name was Karen. She'd spent years on regular patrol duty, received numerous
commendations, endured months of extensive training, and now considered herself very
fortunate to have landed this gig.
Also, she enjoys historical novels, adores green eyes,
and loves quiet times if front of a fire.
Probably.
Back near my bike (an ABS-equipped friggin' ROCKET), I looked up and noticed a
real, live window washer!
Must be tedious work.
Poor *******.
Next, it was down to the waterfront.
Be right back.
Got a soufflé in the oven.
