Ok, picked up a 06 FJR from a very old guy, had rattle at idle, upper rh side. I got a good deal and he was done riding.

So my manual cct came I today, put it in and still has the sound.

Started cold there is zero sound until about 1.5 to 2 min, then it rattles. Sound just like a cam chain clunking. Bring rpm up it goes away. I drove it home after purchase, runs great. I can hear the rattle more if I pop on off throttle.

So

I just took off the top valve cover expectig to see somthing, I rotated the motor clockwise, tried to wiggle cam gears, all seem firm.

The clunking seems high and definitely rh side.

Any ideas?

You posting a new thread instead of continuing the existing one is working against you as you're now asking everything be rediagnosed...yet again.

So my manual cct came I today, put it in and still has the sound.
That seems to presume it's adjusted correctly. I don't know your skills, process, or this particular non-stock item.

One other thing I can think of is loose engine mounts.

Something else that's not stock on this motorcycle rattling? Again you've posted a bunch of other threads asking to identify parts....this thing sounds like a mess if you didn't walk through with the previous owner each detail.

I have rebuilt modern 4 stroke 450 dirt bike, crank up. I'm an engineer for auto ind.

Its definitely from motor, cowling is off, rh side, seems up in the head. Listened around cylinder and does sound d higher. My dirtbike 4 strokes have a bearing on cam gear side,, I really thought it was that so I pulled that cover off to take a peak, unfortunately no actual bearing there,, everything looks/feels tight.

I think the key thing is there is NO clunking when starting cold, rev all I want, until about 1 min or almost 2, then it starts.

Seems like most things I read on the forum are a rattle till oil gets moving.

This is opposite.

I now see you cross posting in the other thread. Thread proliferating is uncool. Stick to the original thread.
