Really cheap farkle

When I was ordering some parts for my 06 front wheel I saw this part number:

CAP

5PW-25188-00-00

It didn't come with the bike and it was about $1. So here it is:

I picked up a front rim from an 06 that had some scratches from assembly. The owner made them replace it. It had been stripped for parts, so I got the parts from McCoy and I now have a complete spare wheel.

I wonder if they use that cap for shipping, then remove it after assembly. I really don't see any function in it, and it really doesn't add to the looks in my opinion.

Does it come in chrome or bead shot aluminum with an allen head screw farkle hold on?
