Coming down Mt Washigton Rear brake acted as if it was out of fluid . Let sit 10 minutes seem to come back to life . Did I boil the fluid resivor was still full?

Sounds like there is some moisture in the fluid that boiled. I would bleed the rear brakes to purge the old fluid and get fresh fluid in the system.

@Gunner - You may have boiled the fluid. Two things come to mind not knowing how old your present fluid is. One, you were using a good amount of rear brake or just a little, but often, (trail braking?), and this could have created enough heat to boil the fluid. Two, the rear brake lever might be sticking some. There have been some reports of this.

Just to rule out accidental foot contact with the pedal, do you ride with your arch on the peg or the ball of your foot?

Regardless of the reason, it would be a good idea to flush and bleed the system. Might as well do the fronts and the clutch too, they take so little time to do. Pick a nice quality DOT 4 fluid. I like Castrol LMA and Valvoline's Synthetic product. Both have higher than average dry boiling points. FWIW, after about two weeks, most brake fluid companies consider your fluid to be "wet", even though I doubt performance drops off that fast.

Concur. Boiled it. Change fluid toot sweet. I've done this twice now. Yes, I use mucho rear brake. No lectures, I'm working on it.

OC, good to see you out from under and posting... You gonna stick around?
