I am reassembling my wheels after having them powder coated and I can't remember which way the cylindrical center spacer goes in the rear wheel. It has a lip on one end. The service manual is confusing on this and shows two different pictures. I think the lip goes towards the differential side but can some one confirm this.

Thanks

John

Does this help?

If you're referring to the internal spacer, the skinny end goes into the final drive. The shoulder will end up facing the RH side of the bike mating up to the wheel bearing.

He's asking about the other side, where it engages the final drive. Lip on the collar goes in the wheel.

EDIT: Tree'd.

No. If you look at it fron left/right point of view, the lip is to the right, towards the wheel. That spacer goes into the pumpkin, from the wheel side, and almost entirely disappears into the pumpkin.

Don't make me have to come all the way out there to fit it for you!!! :assassin:

I see the piece you are talking about but that is not the piece I am referring too. The piece I am referring to goes inside the wheel hub. It looks similar to the spacer you are talking about but it goes inside the wheel between the bearings.

No. Don't **** with my thread. I need to get my bike working again. I hate when you guys post up pictures that have nothing to do with the topic just to make Simon feel bad about himself.

And, I just called Bust on the telephone and he will be on here in just a minute to help out your *** ***; he has to put a sheep back in the barnyard! Hey, Neil in San Diego, do you have any pictures you can post up here to help out our **** friend?

I am going to Gay Cruises International and Hunky Boy to get johnny80s some more helpful pics!

Bust was having, uh, "issues." johnny80s, consider yourself very lucky you do not have to give Bustanut a hand job; he gets so overexcited he falls out of his fecking chair!

I offer no explanation. On the other hand, Papa Chuy never gets excited and rambunctious; this is going to be so much easier for you. Are you right handed or left handed?

johnny80s: I also have some helpful pictures of Old Michael that I can also send on to you, but I have to run them past Admin Galaxy Blue first; to see if they are "Not Work Safe" or OK!

Thanks Bust. I installed the spacer. Got the wheel bearings back in now just need to get the seals. At this rate I might be riding in another month.

Bust you really need a tan. Those legs look like they have never seen the light of day before.

That's pasty white.

No problem John.. Once a year I'm a helpful fecker.

Dude it was June. The snow hadn't been gone more than a month

If ya think those are white.. Well, ya oughta see my nutsack ;)

He lives in a cave with bats and sheep and grows mushrooms is why he is so white!

Got our reservations made in San Diego. Don & I are sharing a room. It works out better that way because we both fart in unison. If SkookerG goes, he will be the tenor and sleep on the balcony.

Oh................ glad you fixed your rear-end Johnny!

You don't have make excuses. I think you two make a good a couple. I don't think raping Skooter in his sleep is helping out self esteem.

Maybe that would explain why the avatar of you on your bike looks like a damned hairy purple dinosaur

On another note..

I just discovered parking at the airport is less than the $25.00 a night at the motel.. Seriously considering dropping the car completely and just walking or taking a cab..
