Hello and a Happy Thanksgiving to all,

What was a well planned out and paid for Thanksgiving weekend in the Marfa and Big Bend Texas area is now a Thanksgiving in the historic city of Nacogdoches Texas. My beautiful wife, Rosaura, and I will spend tomorrow in Baton Rouge then Saturday and Sunday in Lafayette. I hope to spend this weekend listening to some good music and over eating some authentic regional food. In order to accomplish this I need some help form local members. I'm asking for any info on local good eats and music. Please feel free to PM me or just answer here. I enjoy Zydeco music and love authentic regional cuisine. If anyone has some info please let me know. Doesn't have to be high dollar, just real good food and music. To all, hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving with family and friends...........or just doing what ever the hell you wanted to do today.

To All;

Be Good, Be Safe'

Boutin's, Ralph & Kacoos, Copeland's, Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro, Mike Anderson's, Parain's... There is a huge list here in BR.

I am sending you a PM.

Lafayette has 3 local places that I've frequented. Lafayette's is great, anything you want they'll have, nice somewhat upscale place., Gator Cove has alligator, crawfish, catfish and other local stuff at a jeans and T shirt kind of place and price. Blue Dog is also good for local flavor.

I would second the suggestion of Parrains in BR. I am not a local but LA is one of the states in my territory. One of these trips I will have to look up Redfish and Hppants. My travels over there are never by motorcycle though. I always have a car load of demo gear and the company is footing the bill for gas.

If you like the Zydeco music thing then I am going to recommend Boutin's. They feature live bands and the food is pretty good. The "atmosphere" is pretty well set up for someone from out of state looking to experience "Cajun Culture". Boutin's does have two locations, I think the one on Bluebonnet will be your best bet.

Boutin's

8322 Bluebonnet Blvd.

Parrain's is supposed to be excellent, I admit to not having eaten there yet. I have talked to several people who say it is first rate. It is also easy to get there, it is not far from the Interstate.

Parrain's

3225 Perkin's Road

(225) 381-9922

There are many many good places and you will pass right by some good restaurants on your way to either of these places. I will tell you that I rate these two places highest for "out of state" guests. There are other places that I would recommend for local folks. Good luck.
